SERVICE WRITER

Boat Works is currently seeking a full time service writer for immediate placement. Requirements include strong administrative skills, proficiency in numbers, attention to detail, as well as strong problem solving skills. Basic knowledge of boating and the marine industry is desired but not required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Schedule service appointments and document service requests by customers

• Maintain a schedule of work for the service technicians

• Prepare customers’ estimates and billing statements

• Inspect completed work and coordinate customer pick up

• Create a department budget and monitor through weekly and monthly sales reports

• Assist in over-the-counter sales of parts and accessories

Traits of a successful Service writer include but are not limited to accuracy, ability to follow routine procedures, possessing good personal skills, being able to maintain a consistent positive attitude at all times and possessing strong communication skills.

FIBERGLASS TECHNICIAN

Boat Works is currently seeking a full time fiberglass technician. Experience with fiberglass repair (marine or other) is desired although not required. Non-experienced technicians will be considered if they possess strong technical skills and problem solving capabilities and can prove dexterity in their work during a trial period. Guidance and direction are readily available but strong work performance is the responsibility of the employee. Pay plans are competitive and will be based on the overall job performance with the potential for growth through efficiency and quality.

Fiberglass technicians will be expected to perform a variety of tasks within each job including but not limited to fiberglass repair and fabrication, gelcoat matching and repair, wood structure fabrication, carpeting, painting and metal flake within a pre-designated time period. While Boat Works takes personal health and our working environment very serious, the nature of the job can create less than pleasant working conditions at times. Fiberglass technicians will be required to work in a variety of environments including indoors and outdoors during all seasons. Good health and mobility will be required for this position as some heavier lifting will be required.
